NDA: *Client name and detailed project information withheld due to NDA
👤 Role: Associate UX Research Consultant
⚙️ Method: Discovery Research, Interviews
🛠️ Tools: Dovetail, Zoom, Miro, Microsoft 365
🎯 Goal: Explore unfamiliar processes in the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger space through in-depth discovery research, to inform the product development for an early-stage startup.
⛰️ Challenge: Our client noticed a gap in the EV charging service market and wanted to fill it. But before diving in, he needed to understand the gap better and figure out what solution could work. That's where our team came in. Through deep exploratory research, we set out to paint a picture to better understand this gap and help shape the client's potential solution.
🎬 Action: In navigating uncharted territory, we focused on finding the right research participants. After refining criteria through months of screening, we conducted over 20 remote interviews across two participant groups. Along with moderating, I played a crucial role in data analysis, using tools like Dovetail and Miro to distill insights. Despite the complexity of our findings, we provided a simplified roadmap to inform product development, highlighting challenges and opportunities for solutions.
📝 Result: Our detailed report, covering user journeys, pain points, and feedback on solutions, was well received and seen as highly insightful. Since participants were recruited on a rolling basis, we delivered sections of the report as we progressed, continuously informing the ongoing development of the client's product. Looking ahead, there's potential for future collaboration, potentially including product testing research.
